The Making of RAMKA
The Beginning
A Boy from Sungai Petani
Rhuee was born and raised in Sungai Petani, Kedah, from a humble family. He scored 5As in UPSR at Sek Keb Sri Gedong before being selected at 13 to attend Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) — one of Malaysia's most prestigious boarding schools. There he served as President of the Student Union, received the Leadership Award, and scored 10As in SPM. A JPA scholar, he went on to Vanderbilt University, Nashville, graduating in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2012. Those MCKK years shaped the way he thinks, leads, and carries responsibility.
The Date That Changed Everything
8 April — Born, Married, and Bound Together
Rhuee and Afiqah share the same birthday — 8 April 1990. On 8 April 2015, they chose their shared birthday as their Nikah date. A date that now carries three meanings: two lives, one beginning.
"We were born on the same day. So we chose to begin our life together on that same day."
Then They Arrived
The Day Everything Changed — Three Times
Maryam came first, on 29 December 2015. Then Khadeeja, on 24 June 2018. Then Aeesya, on 15 January 2020. Three different days. The same arms. The same look — quiet, overwhelmed, grateful.

The PETRONAS Years
RAPID, Pengerang & The Megaproject
After two years at Malakoff Corporation managing power plant tenders, Rhuee joined PETRONAS / PRPC in 2014, rising from Executive to Senior Executive in Integrated Economics at the Pengerang Integrated Complex — one of the world's largest refinery megaprojects. He built tariff and financial models for utilities (electricity, steam, water, gas, air), managed USD 5B+ in assets, drafted supply contracts worth USD 25B+, led benchmarking exercises with BCG, Kearney and Accenture, and built a CEO-level Power BI dashboard. He often worked until 11pm. He witnessed empty land become a world-scale industrial complex. He wanted to write about it one day.

The Move
Qatar — A New Chapter
In 2024, Rhuee accepted an offer from QatarEnergy as Senior Economic Analyst. He moved first, staying at La Cigale Hotel while preparing everything — visas, schools, accommodation — for the family to follow. The family eventually settled in Ezdan Village 11, Al Wakrah. The migration wasn't just a career move. It was a complete family transition — full of uncertainty, adjustment, exhaustion, and eventually, a new home.

Who Rhuee Is
The Man Behind RAMKA
Analytical by nature, sentimental at heart. He thinks in systems but remembers emotional details: the empty land at Pengerang, his daughters growing older, feeding Rimau the cat outside his house who sleeps on a chair but isn't his.
He loves candid photography with his Fujifilm X-T30 II (prime lenses — 90mm f/2, 35mm f/2, 16mm f/2.8). He drinks karak and Kashmiri tea. He drives a Toyota Harrier. He wants to memorize the Quran, learn Arabic, and pray Maghrib at the mosque more often.
"My daughters love me very much."
Ummi
Nor Afiqah Baharudin — The One Who Makes It Happen
Behind every RAMKA adventure is Afiqah — the one who finds the Airbnbs, plans the routes, manages the logistics, and somehow keeps five people moving smoothly. She is calm where Rhuee is analytical, warm where he is structured. Born on the same day as her husband — 8 April 1990 — she chose that same date to begin their life together. That wasn't a coincidence. That was Afiqah.
She handles the school runs every day, sun or rain, dropping off and picking up Maryam, Khadeeja and Aeesya at GEMS AAQ Al Wakrah. She is the emotional anchor of the family — and the reason RAMKA trips feel effortless even when they aren't.
The Three Girls
Maryam, Khadeeja & Aeesya
Maryam, born 29 December 2015, is the eldest — a natural explorer who loves adventures. She is in Grade 4B at GEMS AAQ, learning English, Math, Arabic, Islamic, and World Languages (French then Spanish). Her best friend is Maryam Anastasia. She was the first — the one who made Rhuee a father for the first time.
Khadeeja, born 24 June 2018, is the middle child — spirited and determined. She is in Grade 1C, and she was the one who personally requested Lost World of Tambun for the Malaysia trip. She recently played in a basketball competition against Wellington School. She had a dental crown procedure at Aman Hospital in May 2026 — and was incredibly brave throughout.
Aeesya, born 15 January 2020, is the youngest — the one who loves beach days and waterfalls. She is in KG2B and graduating in June 2026, moving to Grade 1 next year. On 26 May 2026, she had a bad fall and needed 9 stitches on her forehead. She handled it better than everyone else. That is very much Aeesya.

Life in Doha
Qatar is Home Now
The family lives in ABA Compound 2, Thumama — moved from Al Wakrah in September 2025. Rhuee commutes to QatarEnergy, a 30-minute drive. Work runs 9am to 6pm. Afiqah manages the home and school runs while Rhuee is at the office.
Outside the house lives Rimau — a stray cat who has claimed a chair by the door as his own. Rhuee feeds him daily. Rimau is not their cat. But he is, in every way that matters.
Rhuee's fuel is karak and Kashmiri tea. He drives a Toyota Harrier. He shoots with a Fujifilm X-T30 II — 90mm f/2, 35mm f/2, and 16mm f/2.8 prime lenses — always chasing candid moments, cinematic light, the shot that feels like a memory before it even becomes one.
What He Carries
Faith, Goals & What Comes Next
Islam is central to how Rhuee lives and thinks. He wants to memorize the Quran — not someday, but as a real goal. He wants to become fluent in Arabic. He wants to pray Maghrib at the mosque more consistently, even when work is exhausting.
The family performed Umrah in July 2025 — midnight Tawaf, Raudhah before Fajr, five people moving together through the most sacred places on earth. It was intentional. It was meaningful. It was RAMKA at its most important.
He thinks simultaneously at the strategic level, the logistical level, and the emotional level. He notices things — his daughters growing taller, the empty land at Pengerang becoming a megacomplex, the way Rimau waits by the door. He wants to write about the RAPID journey one day. He probably will.
What RAMKA Means
